Imagine having a network of friends who understand the unique
challenges faced by foster, adoptive and kinship parents.

Imagine these friends share a similar belief system.

Imagine child-care during support group meetings.

Imagine training that deals not only with the unique issues you face
but the underlying spiritual issues as well.

Imagine consistent respite once a month.

Imagine activities for your kids, and activities for families.
Our founder began foster parenting in 1999. She was single, worked full time, and had few strong support
systems other than family who lived 30 miles away. It was not long before she realize that she needed more
support and more training.

Her first attempt at finding support was through support group meetings presented by the county where she
was certified. The training was good, but personal connections were not easily made. She then began taking
parenting classes at her church but quickly learned was that they did not fully understand the unique issues
faced by foster parents. The training was good, and she found the loving support that she needed. However,
there was still something missing. What she longed for was a group that combined training (which met
agency criteria), faith, connections, and understanding of our unique issues.

Surely there must be a faith-based foster parent’s support group. But she was unable to locate one. So she
determined to try to get one started. The biggest reason for forming a group was also the biggest obstacle.
She did not know many other foster parents.

Finally, in God’s timing, this project is coming together. This web site is but one piece of this project. Our
ongoing support group meets on a regular basis for support and training, Prayer, support, fellowship, and
family activities.

Our training meetings meet criteria for ongoing foster care training hours. However, we try to look at foster
care issues from a faith based perspective. Our approach is non-demoninational and we urge families from
any faith to join us.

If you are interested in starting a group in your local area or want information on existing groups, please
e-mail our group coordinator. Each group will be directed by the groups shared values and therefere, each
group will have its own unique personality.
